Präsident

The Hungarian Camping Association has been working to unite and represent the interests of
Hungarian campsite operators since 1992. Over the decades, the association has contributed to the development of Hungarian camping tourism, which experienced an enormous boom at the turn of the millennium. New facilities were built and the quality of existing campsites was improved.

Exemplary leadership, outstanding recognition
Ms Borbála Kisgyörgy, President of the Hungarian Camping Association, was awarded the
Kőrösi Csoma Sándor Prize in 2024 for her work to improve the situation of campsites and to promote the recognition and popularisation of camping. The award, presented by Mr
Márton Nagy, Minister of National Economy and Mr László Könnyid, CEO of the Hungarian Tourism Board (MTÜ), is one of the highest awards in tourism in Hungary.
Quality that stands out The association wants to expand its membership and raise awareness of the certification system, which is crucial for the competitiveness of campsites. According to the National Tourism Data Collection Centre, 30% of the more than 300 registered campsites have such a seal of approval, which underwent a thorough revision in 2019 to meet the latest quality standards.

Modern tools and joint development
The Hungarian Camping Association endeavours to develop its relationships and cooperation with the various tourism stakeholders. On its modern website – www.camping.hu – the Hungarian campsites are presented in a worthy manner at home and abroad, together with a colourful palette of natural beauty.

Development as a common goal
As part of the ‘Kisfaludy 2030’ programme, the association organised a free professional
event in Tiszakécske in November 2024, where it offered practical support to campsite
owners and operators. During the presentations and consultations, participants were able to learn about the latest trends in online presence, cleanliness and communication and share their experiences.

Sustainability and guest experience
Our campsites are committed to sustainable operations, high-quality services and
continuous improvement in guest satisfaction.
Our motto: ‘When it’s green, everything is more beautiful’.
